Steve (alias; Q) entered the food industry when he assisted Chef Adam Blanchard with founding Five Brother Artisan Cheese in 2011. This journey reignited a passion for all things food in Steve that he has followed ever since. He left the Five Brothers team in 2015 and has since been working on his own skills catering corporate events with pig roasts, smokehouse barbeque, and traditional Newfoundland fish-fry’s. He can also be found catering to hunting/fishing parties, preparing meals riverside over open fires. In 2016 Steve launched his own personal brand Q’s Barbeque Catering Service, experiencing unexpected demand and growth for his unique take on the “family BBQ” and entertaining personality.
You can now find Q most nights at The Adelaide Oyster House, on Water Street in St. John’s “on the knife” shucking oysters. Adelaide’s lively atmosphere pairs well with Q’s boisterous personality.
Steve has had the pleasure of working with his friends during numerous food festivals in Newfoundland, such as The Gathering, Roots Rants and Roars, Songs Stages and Seafood, Eat The Hill, Canada’s 150th in the Town of Clarenville and now back for more at the 2017 Gathering in beautiful Burlington for another memorable weekend!
